A downloadable zine
Flying Games is a collection of 8 short RPGs (and an editorial) based around themes of consent, weather patterns, dreams, and (of course) flight. These games aren't intended to be played. That's never been their purpose. Instead, like most games you'll read, the purpose is to imagine your relationship with them. These games are an invitation, to imagine impossible things. Will you accept?
Flying Games is the fourth zine in the Games For The Missing & The Found series. These zines have become an important touchstone and marker for the emerging Lyric Game genre on Itch. While this is perhaps the most uplifting zine in the series, it still deals with heavy and complicated topics based on my own experiences as a queer, poor, mentally-ill game designer.
The previous zines in the series are:
- Games For Lost People, which addresses queerness and mental illness, and the complexity of navigating a fraught-yet-hopeful world.
- Games For The Breakdown, which delves more deeply into the chaos of mental illness, conclusions, and disaster scenarios.
- Games For Tomorrow, which is no longer available online, tackled loss, fleeting hope, and loneliness.
In order to download this zine you must purchase it at or above the minimum price of $7.50 USD. You will get access to the following files:
